Our Love Story

Like an invisible string woven by God's perfect timing, Caleb and Avante both found themselves downloading Hinge at just the right moment in their lives. What seemed like pure chance was clearly the Lord's divine orchestration—two hearts seeking Him first, now being led toward each other across the digital landscape. Their first conversation on the app sparked something neither had expected, a connection that felt both instant and blessed, as if Jesus Himself was guiding their words.

Their first date took them to the breathtaking Kirstenbosch Gardens, where surrounded by nature's beauty, Caleb's romantic heart couldn't help but shine through. Standing before the giant pea pod at the entrance, he looked at Avante and said with a grin, "You and I are like two peas in a pod." It was cheesy, it was sweet, and it was perfectly them—a moment that would become part of their foundation.

As they continued dating and getting to know each other's dreams, quirks, and hearts—sharing their testimonies, praying together, and discovering how beautifully their faith in Jesus aligned—the rest of the world seemed to fade away. Nothing else mattered when they were together, grounded in Christ's love. Their third date at the World of Birds Sanctuary became the day they both realized they had fallen in love—surrounded by God's magnificent creation taking flight, their own hearts had learned to soar in the freedom that comes from loving someone who shares your devotion to the Lord.

On July 2nd, 2022, in Tokai Forest, they made it official and became boyfriend and girlfriend. The forest seemed to witness their promise to each other, with God's creation itself blessing their covenant to honour Him in their relationship.

Two years later, on July 6th, 2024, with the majestic Table Mountain as their backdrop at the Twelve Apostles Hotel, Caleb asked Avante to be his forever. Just as they had always known deep down since that first conversation on Hinge, that invisible string had been God's loving hand guiding them toward this moment—toward a marriage built on the foundation of Christ, where truly, nothing else matters but their love for each other and their shared devotion to Jesus, who brought them together and will sustain them for all the days of their lives.
